ORGANIC LINEN

Organic linen: why this choice

The demand of organic materials in industrial world is constantly growing. In this last period efforts always more tangible are requested to the companies in order to reduce the environmental impact of their own productions.
In our sector, the demand of "green" textile is very frequent. The request of organic products grows parallely to the consumer confidence in investing more (in economic terms) in qualities that warrant biologicity.

Linificio offers to Customers proposals in organic linen (Bioflax), coming from a plant that is born and grows in fields never treated with chemicals and whose transformation respects strict biological instructions. All is controlled by independent laboratories. During the following steps, the yarn is treated with products that respect strict organic instructions, preserving the organic features of raw material used during the whole productive process. In this way, the Customer can clearly recognize a product that is organic, inspected and certified.
Linificio process systems are therefore able to prepare personalized production cycles, in order to develop an organic product, distinguishable from conventional productions.

The EKO Sustainable Textile mark

The EKO Sustainable Textile mark refers to GOTS (Global Organic Textile Standard) regulation. It is issued by Control Union Certifications (Skal International), a non-profit, independent, internationally operating organization, inspecting and certifying sustainable products and production methods. The EKO Sustainable Textile mark is the international symbol for organic quality, it guarantees that the product has been checked regarding its origin (raw materials coming from organic cultivations), worked with organic methods and in accordance with objectively fixed quality standards.

Organic raw materials

The suppliers are farms present in the Dutch area of polders (fields conquered to the sea and drained), that the government has put at their disposal.
They are able to sustain a linen raw material production with organic methods, thanks to an elaborate system of watering and infrastructures for the realization of new conception fields.
These farms have developed new technics, after studies begun in '70s and improved in time, in order to combine the benefits of wide production and environmental exigences.

Using organic yarns, fabrics and garments is not only an ethical choice, in keeping with the environment.
It is also a more healthy choice, without giving up the style.
